False Teachers: Here We Go Again

False Teachers: Here We Go Again

Continuing from last week’s episode, Pastor Jack reads quotes from well-known false teachers. When God speaks, He most often does so through His Word. Scripture doesn’t need to be enhanced or expanded—it simply needs to be read, trusted, and obeyed. Yet for many, this isn’t enough. There are those who constantly seek new revelations, hidden wisdom, or a fresh “word” from a so-called special source—hallmarks of what Scripture identifies as false teaching.

This is part two of a message, a podcast we're calling I forget Somebody's Crazy kind of a podcast, wow. But if you saw part one, I started out with a particular Bible verse out of 2 Timothy and this one. We'll start this particular podcast with 1 Timothy, chapter 4, verse 1. 01:34 Now the Spirit, that is, the Holy Spirit, expressly says that in the latter times, last days, some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons. Question is that possible? Answer absolutely. Bible says it's going to happen. How sure can we be 100%? The Bible says. The Holy Spirit says watch out. 01:58 Doctrines of demons, deceiving spirits, are on their way. How do we know? Speaking lies and hypocrisy, untruths, untruth, truths, speaking lies and hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron. In other words, they are all in it for themselves and their world is occupied by self-thought, self-desires, as we looked at the verse last time, consumed with the acquisition of things, thinking that the preaching of the gospel is a way to get rich. The Bible warns about this and remember the challenge last time was for us. Oh, we don't know anybody like that. Well, you may or may not know anybody like that, but we know of people like that and we need to be very, very leery and discerning and take people who represent God at their word when they say something like God told me. 03:04 Okay, stop right there. If God told you to tell me something, a believer, pastor Jack, God told me to tell you listen. Why doesn't God tell me himself? If it's so important? Why doesn't he tell me oh well, you won't find this in the Bible. God revealed this to me. I'm not going to listen to you. It's not going to happen, because God will speak to me, and he does speak to me, and he always does it through the Bible. The word of God doesn't need to be added to it, just needs to be obeyed and listened to. But that's not good enough for people who are seeking additions to the Bible and new revelations and wisdom that is from a special place, knowledge that has not been revealed to all people, only to some. I'm reading quotes you judge, you discern, picking it up where we left off. 04:14 Kenneth Copeland, from Believer's Voice of Victory broadcast, said the righteousness of God was made to be sin. He, Jesus, accepted sin, the sin, nature of Satan in his own spirit, and at that moment Jesus became a mortal man, capable of failure, capable of death. I cannot tell you how demonic that statement is by Kenneth Copeland, that in that moment Jesus became mortal man. You mean the incarnation? Is that what you're trying to say? That when God laid on Jesus the sins of Satan, the sins of Satan in his own spirit, in that moment he became mortal man, capable of failure? This is absolute, insane, false doctrine. He goes on you don't think that Earth's not a planet too, do you? You don't think that it's not around, do you? Or round? Well, neither is heaven. Heaven is a planet, wow. You don't think God's on a flat place up there, do you? Heaven is a planet and it's out there in the north, somewhere. Kenneth Copeland, believer's Voice of Victory broadcast. That's very much like Mormonism. More than anything, where does it say in the Bible that heaven's a planet? In fact, the Bible says that God is going to dissolve the universe that is, and make a new heaven and a new earth, but it doesn't tell you that heaven is a planet. That's wild. 06:06 Next on our list of deceivers TD Jakes. Everybody loves TD Jakes. People call him Daddy and Papa, big cuddly. Td Jakes, watch out. We have one God, but he is Father in creation, son in redemption and Holy Spirit in regeneration. It's three functions. One God the Bible teaches there's one God, manifested in three personalities each co-equal, each immutable, each eternal, each sovereign. One God Not what TD Jakes says in the Forgotten God published in 2001. That's false doctrine. He goes on to say your words have creative power, speak life into your situation. When you speak faith, you're calling in the blessing, you're prophesying your future. God says what you say can change what you see. God never said that. God never said what God says what you say can change what you see. Where did God say that? In the Bible, and that's from your Words have Power by TD Jakes, paula White. Paula White says anyone who tells you to deny yourself is from Satan. Women's Convention in Orlando, Florida, broadcast on TBN October 30th 2007. Florida, broadcast on TBN October 30th 2007. 07:50 She says I believe that when you honor God on Passover, starting on April 12th that would have been some particular year, we'll find out, I think, at the end. Anyway, at sundown through Good Friday on the 18th and concluding on Easter Sunday, you can receive these seven supernatural blessings for you and your house. According to Exodus, chapter 23, God will assign an angel to you. He'll be an enemy to your enemies. He'll give you prosperity. He'll take sickness away from you. You prosperity. He'll take sickness away from you. He will give you long life, will bring increase in inheritance and he'll give a special year of blessing. You're not doing this to get something, but you're doing it in honor to God, realizing what you can receive. Passover sermon on Exodus, chapter 23. 08:51 She goes on there's or this is an addition to there's someone that God is speaking to to click on that donation button by minimizing the screen and, when you do, to sow $1,144, it's not often I ask very specifically, but God has instructed me and I want you to hear this isn't for anyone, but this is for for someone when you sow that $1,144 based on John 1144, I believe, for resurrection life, easter sermon, march 27th 2016. Do I have to say anything about that? If you believe that, I'll put it to you this way. Jesus said my sheep hear my voice and they follow me, and a stranger they will not follow. If you use John 11, 44 to think up, a $1,144 donation will get you prosperity. There are zillions of thousands of Bible verses. In the Bible. You can pick any number from any book and create anything. This is so sad. 10:22 Bill Johnson, bethel Church. Bill Johnson, excuse Johnson, bethel Church. Bill Johnson, excuse me, bethel Church. God is in charge, but he is not in control. He has left us in control In his book. When Heaven Invades Earth, I'll say that again when God is in, God is in charge, but he is not in control. He has left us in control. 10:48 For centuries, the people of God have gathered together around specific truths. Denominations and organizations have been formed to unite these groups of believers. Unity based on common doctrines has a measure of success, but there is an inherent problem with this approach. There are majority. There are. I'm sorry. There are major changes in the wind right now. For the last several years, people have started to gather around fathers instead of doctrine, the Elijah List, article 2008. 11:27 I'm not even sure what he's even talking about Interesting. When he bore, this is speaking of Jesus, I would assume. When he bore stripes on his body, he made a payment for a miracle. He already decided to heal. You can't decide not to buy something after you've already bought it. There are no deficiencies. In his end he said Neither the covenant is deficit. He doesn't know, wow, nor his compassion or promises. All lack is on our end of the equation. Man. That's right out of a book. That's pathetic writing. It's the book by Bill Johnson, or an article by Bill Johnson, printed, published. 12:23 Is it always God's will to heal someone? He goes on. Heaven invades earth when there is agreement where two exist there. When heaven invades earth, Joyce Meyer, see, Jack, why are you doing this? Because the Bible tells us that in the last days, perilous times will come. Men will be lovers of themselves, and on and on that goes. And then the scripture then, as I read a moment ago, says that there's going to come a time, which is now, that there'll be those propagating doctrines of demons and deceiving spirits will propagate things to mislead people. These are strange things, presented in the name of God saying God said something and it's not even in the Bible, Joyce Meyer. Jesus went to hell for you, he died for you, he paid for your sins. God was faithful to Jesus. God did what he told Jesus he would do he raised him from the dead. But until that happened, he was alone for three days satisfying the courts of justice and conquering the host of hell. He took the keys of hell and death. He preached to the prisoners held captive there in paradise. He led them out victorious. 13:47 There's a ton of truth in what she's saying here in this one, but it's pieced together and it makes it untruth. Did Jesus descend after the crucifixion? Did Jesus descend into the lower parts of the earth called Hades and declare the gospel to those who were captive, those who were there? The answer to that is yes. It's called Abraham's bosom and he led captivity, captive and gave gifts unto men. In other words, Jesus emptied out Abraham's bosom. It's called, it's referred to in Judaism, hades Prior to the resurrection of Jesus. Prior to the resurrection of Jesus, hades is built up of two separate rooms. Think of two separate rooms. Luke, chapter 15 and 16 speak about this. There are those who were being tortured in Hades and then there were those who were being comforted in Hades and that there's a great division, a great gulf, a canyon. We can say that divides them both. Jesus lets you in on this. Read Luke 15 and read Luke 16 on this. And so there's some of what she's saying here is in fact, true, but it's muddled together. And did Jesus pay for our sin debt at the cross? Yes, was Jesus isolated from the Father at the cross when he said, my God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Yes, he had to fulfill Psalm 22. All of that is true, but how she puts it together is misleading. And this is from 1991, page 41 of the Most important decision you will ever make. She goes on I was listening to a set of tapes by one man and he explained it like this this kind of gets the point across. 15:42 I think it meant to say this kind of gets the point across. I think it meant to say this kind of gets the point across. He said why do people have such a fit about God calling his creation, his creation, his man? Not his whole creation, but his man, little gods? If he's God, what's he going to call them? But the God kind? I mean, if you, as a human being, have a baby, you call it a human kind. If it cattle has another kind, they call it cattle. I mean, what is God supposed to call them? Doesn't the Bible say we are created in his image? Now you understand. I am not saying you are God with a capital G. That is not the issue here. So don't go trying to stone me or yell blasphemy at me. No, but Kenneth Copeland, we read last time, yes, said that the Bible says right here in John, chapter 10, verse 34, and Jesus answered is it not written in your law I say that you are gods. So men are called gods by the law. That is, and the source is. Maybe we can put this up at the end of the podcast. It's YouTube, you can listen to it there. 17:08 Yeah, guess what God Jesus did, say that to the Jewish leadership, and is recorded in the Old Testament, where God says did I not say that you are gods? In the English it says gods, okay, she's taking English and she's applying it like it's the source language of the Bible. That's like saying that Filipino is the source language of the Bible. No, greek, hebrew and Aramaic is the source language of the Bible. And when God said did I not say to all of you that you are gods? He was speaking to the judges of Israel. He was speaking to those and he called them, them, elohim, plural judges judges, not gods. Like God is God, okay. That's very important. Words in the scripture are always defined by the context of what you're studying. 18:04 So, for example, when Jesus said to the Pharisees they're troubled and they're angry and they're jealous and they're saying to him we don't believe in you, we don't believe in you. And Jesus is saying I am the Son of man, I am the Son of God. Jesus is saying we don't believe you and you have a demon. And Jesus announces to them they said we're the sons of descendants of Abraham. And Jesus said if Abraham were your father, you would know that before Abraham was, I am Ego eimi. Okay, he didn't say Elohim, he didn't say I'm a judge, he said ego eimi, I am. And then they went nuts and they were going to stone him. Because Jesus says why are you going to stone me? And they said he said because of miracles. And they said no, but because you have declared yourself to be God, we're going to stone you. Jesus said that he was the. 19:02 I am Never, never, except for Kenneth Copeland. Kenneth Copeland says that he is the. I am also. That is absolutely damnable heresy. But Joyce Meyer is saying that God is saying didn't I call you gods? No, he called those in authority judges. And, by the way, that is a doctrine, again, of Mormonism. Mormonism uses that to justify that you can become a God as well. 19:34 Wow, here's another one. I'm not poor, I'm not miserable and I'm not a sinner. I don't stop sinning, or I didn't stop sinning until I finally got it through my thick head. I wasn't a sinner anymore. And the religious world thinks that's heresy and they want to hang you for it. But the Bible says that I am righteous and I can't be righteous and be a sinner at the same time. That is an absolute, absolute affront to soteriology, to sanctification, to the doctrines of redemption, positional righteousness versus practical righteousness. 20:17 The book of Romans and the book of James all answers this question. Isn't it interesting that the Bible says in 1 John, chapter 1, verse 10, it says that if we say that we have no sin, we call God a liar and his truth is not in us. And she just said she's not a sinner. Listen, you're a sinner, I'm a sinner. She's not a sinner. Listen, you're a sinner, I'm a sinner. 20:47 Do we practice sin? No, we don't go out and plan on it anymore. But do we have upset thoughts, angry thoughts, lustful thoughts, selfish thoughts? Do we always conduct ourselves honorably and Christ honoring? No, that's why the Bible says in 1 John 1, 9, if we confess our sins, he's faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Wow, creflo, dollar, that's his real name, dollar, dollar, that's his real name, dollar, wow. Anyway, he said you're not a sinner, saved by grace, you are sons and daughters of the most high God. You are gods. That's from Changing your World. Tv show, april 17th 2002. That's blasphemy, he goes on. Jesus wore designer clothes and that prosperity can be yours if we sow a seed. Several dollars TV broadcast. 21:57 Here's a guy by the name of Todd White In the Christian life. It actually says that these signs will follow them that believe. Now, there's a lot of the church that doesn't believe that and there's not signs following them. And I understand that and that's okay. But they're supposed to if you're a believer. It says in my name, they will cast out devils. Now watch, I just want you to picture this. What if membership classes at the church? If you came for membership classes, they had a demonized person on stage and in order for you to be a member, you had to cast out the devil? That would change your church attendance. That's from a Daystar broadcast with Todd White and you can look that up there. Wow, that's interesting. So the miracles are subject to us, not to God, I'll leave you with this because you're running short on time. 23:07 Why was it? When Paul was in ministry and I forget, I'm sorry, I forget who it was, maybe you can look it up Paul was ministering and they were starting to leave, to head off to their next stop, and I think it's, and I think he left Silas or or one of the brothers, one of the ministry team members. He said I left him in Miletus, sick. He was too sick to travel with us. Why didn't Paul heal him? If Todd White is correct, how come Paul didn't heal him? They needed him. 23:45 And why does Paul write later on in his life? He says that this letter you see what large letter I've written to you with my own hand why is it that church history tells us that Paul had very, very severe vision, bad eyes? Why is it that Paul suffered a messenger of Satan to buffet him? The Bible says that Paul said that God did that to keep him humble. Wow, do I believe in healings and miracles? Absolutely. Do I believe that God is sovereign to operate those? Absolutely? Do I believe that God always answers my prayer when such a thing is going on? Nope, nope. Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't. I've seen miracles, and then there's times when I hope the miracle would happen and it didn't. I leave it into the hands of God. He's sovereign Wow, todd White says. 24:38 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses that's right out of the Bible but one who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. That's true. Then he says I am sinless. You can also be sinless if your mind and spirit is working according to God's plan. False doctrine, impossible. Finally, we're running out of time and I'm running out of paper. 25:03 Stephen Furtick, elevation Church. God is energy. God is spirit. God is molecular structure. That fills all in all. First of all, molecular structure. You have to have physical entities, physical elements, atomic, to talk molecular structure. That's a contradictory statement he just made. That's what it means to say that Christ was from the beginning. 25:32 This is a sermon called the God of. Also From the sermon you're made for more. God made you in his image so that his nature, his power, his life would live through you. You're not just a human being trying to be like God. You are a divine being carrying the presence of God. Very misleading A sermon titled I Know I Am. I know I am, I'm just nervous about that title. When God said I am to Moses you know my name is, I am he was trying to get Moses to see you are as I am False doctrine. 26:15 Finally, andy Stanley Boy, what's the old saying? The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree. Is that the saying? Is that how it goes? Corn doesn't fall far from the tree. Is that the saying? Is that how it goes? Well, sad to say that. You know, andy Stanley, son of Dr Charles Stanley. If Dr Charles Stanley is an oak tree, he must have been grown on the side of a hill, because when that acorn fell it rolled into into Nutsville. I mean, it has just crashed and burned itself. Andy Stanley, extremely skilled speaker, he's got talent. But it's been a long time now it's been over a decade where the truth of Andy Stanley's interesting doctrines have been made known. 27:04 Anyway, andy Stanley, the Bible is a collection of stories, not a systematic theology. We don't need to defend it. We need to tell the stories Stories that was from a sermon titled who Needs God. I'm sorry, I should be crying for this guy's soul. Oh, my boy. From the series taught by Andy Stanley, the Aftermath series. 27:43 You don't need to unhitch, wait. You don't need to unhitch, wait. You don't need to unhitch from the old testament, but you don't need it to follow Jesus. How do you know Jesus is Jesus without the old testament? I'm witnessing right now to a jewish friend of mine. I can only use the old testament to show them that Jesus is the promised Messiah. If Andy Stanley would have witnessed the Jewish people, he would have known to never have said such a stupid thing. Finally, here we go. We're out of time. 28:16 Christianity doesn't hinge on the truth of the Bible but on the resurrection of Jesus. Excuse me, the resurrection of Jesus is the truth of the Bible. The truth of the Bible is the resurrection of Jesus. You can't separate the two. The entire Bible talks about the Messiah who will come, live, die and be resurrected from the dead. That's Bible doctrine. It's called theology. Friends, listen, watch out, and there's a lot of new crazies coming on the scene. In fact, Jesus said there'll be more new crazies coming all the time. There's going to be false teachers, false prophets, and there's going to be many of them. As we get more and more into the last days, they will increase. There'll be more and more of them. 29:02 Stay in your Bible, everybody. Stay in the Bible, read the Bible, spend more time in the Bible than you do listening to people. Spend more time in the Bible than you do listening to a sermon. You should be in your Bible every day so that when somebody does speak falsehood, the Holy Spirit will set the alarm off. That's false. That's false. That's wrong. False, that's false. That's wrong. Please, please. 29:27 Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. God incarnate, the one and only God, the Father, God, the Son, God, the Holy Spirit, one God, hear, o Israel, the Lord, our God is one God. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, genesis 1.1. The Bible tells us that God in his totality created all things. And listen, it is God who brought forth to us that he had always had the plan of redemption. When man would exercise his free choice, his free will and sin against God, God didn't have to create a second plan. He knew before time ever was that you and I would sin against him. And the Bible reveals that in Ephesians, chapter two, that from the ages past to the ages ahead, God has worked out his plan of redemption to his praise and to his glory. Friends, you cannot reform yourself, you cannot improve yourself to earn God's favor and thereby get entrance into heaven. 30:32 Christ Jesus died for our sins. We are sinners, saved by the grace of God Because he saved us, we now love him because he first loved us that we would now live a life that's pleasing to him, and when we sin, we ask him to forgive us of our sins. And, by the way, we make reconciliation with those who we sinned against. And we be Christians. We act like Jesus, we live like Jesus, but we're not Jesus folks. We are redeemed by Jesus, by the love of God, by the work of God, and all God's people said amen. God bless you guys. Listen, share the news, let people know, pass this along and we'll grow together in the word of God. As we get back next time together on the Jack Hibbs podcast, God bless you guys, stand strong in Jesus' name, amen. 31:31 - Speaker 1 This Jack Hibbs podcast, as well as all the broadcast outreach opportunities, are listener supported.
