Hey everybody. 01:02 - Speaker 2 We are back to a Rapid Fire podcast together. 01:05 Rapid Fire is where you send me questions. I am not aware of the questions. There's no rehearsal of the questions. It is raw, it is real and hopefully very beneficial. Here's how they came about. 01:18 I did ask recently hey, we've got a Rapid Fire session coming up in one of our podcasts. We would love for you to shoot us some questions. And those questions came in, but not to me. They came into the producers here of the Jack Hibbs show and that's how this comes about. And so all of this with hopes of it answering your questions and really explaining that which is relatable today and what's going on Now. 01:48 Again, your questions could be anything from is the earth flat to capital punishment. So I don't know what it's going to be, but I'll do my best and I think the rule is this Is the rule one minute. So the rule is I have to answer it in one minute and do the best, and I think the rule is this is the rule one minute. So the rule is I have to answer it in one minute and do the best I can at that and some of the questions I would, I'm guessing, at a time like this at the time of this recording. We're just here at the end of September, right now, and so some of the things, if I have the time, I'm going to direct you. 02:25 If I've answered some of the questions more in depth, either in interviews or a message or a previous podcast, then I'm going to direct you to further study. So, Lord help us, Lord help me, but may this be a time of growth and a greater awareness of the value and of the perfection of your Bible. In Jesus name, amen. All right, guys. 02:55 - Speaker 3 First question when the rapture happens, will backsliders and prodigals be raptured too? 03:06 - Speaker 2 backsliders and prodigals be raptured too. When the rapture happens, will backsliders and prodigals go up as well? Yes, they go up. They go up because listen, it's the rapture being caught up and found worthy to go up. It's not a worthy question, it's an ashamed question. The Bible says that we should walk and be ready and be watching lest, when he comes, we be ashamed. It doesn't say that the prodigal or the backslider is not going up. It means that they are going to be ashamed. That is coming. There's no rapture qualifications other than this to be born again. Can you be born again and be a backslider? Yes, you cannot be a backslider without being born again. But if you're backsliding and the rapture takes place, are you left behind? No, you're just ashamed on the way up because you wasted your time. Hopefully that makes sense Time. 03:57 - Speaker 3 All right, If you can only use one Old Testament book to demonstrate that Jesus's birth, death and resurrection were prophesied, which book would it be? Genesis, chapter three verse 15. 04:10 - Speaker 2 Genesis 3, 15. It's God speaking to Satan. Adam and Eve are listening and the Lord lays out the plan of salvation. And the Savior will be of divine birth. That's why the S is capital in seed of the woman, that from Eve's genealogy, from Eve's humanity, the Messiah will come and he will destroy, crush the head of Satan and Satan will crush the heel of the Messiah. That is, inflict pain, as of course he did. But the victory is Satan loses, christ redeems us and mankind is rescued from their sins. All wrapped up in Genesis, chapter 3, verse 15. 04:54 - Speaker 3 When we die, do we go straight to heaven? Some people say we are asleep until the second coming. 05:00 - Speaker 2 Yeah, some people are taught bad theology. Number one, to be absent from the bodies, to be present with the Lord. In the book of Acts, Stephen's being stoned to death. He makes confession in front of Saul of Tarsus, by the way, who remembers this? He looks up and he sees Jesus stand up at the right hand of God, the Father, no doubt to receive Stephen. And Stephen says so and he sees it happening and he enters into glory. There is no such thing as soul sleep. It is a bad doctrine because it's sloppy, sloppy theology. The body, when the body dies. The word says that Daniel, for example, God said you're going to live a good old age and you're going to sleep with your fathers. The word is referring to the body. The body is going to be laid to rest in the earth, but never is that spoken about the soul, of the spirit. In fact, in Luke, chapter 15 or 16, Jesus tells us about an event where there's a man in Abraham's bosom at a time. 06:05 - Speaker 3 Next, will the marriage supper of the lamb occur directly after the rapture, during the tribulation, or after the millennial reign? 06:13 - Speaker 2 There's a lot of great debates on this, from great theologians, on all views. You're asking me personally, I believe, based on Isaiah, chapter 26,. Isaiah chapter 26, I believe that the marriage supper of the lamb takes place in heaven, above, during the tribulation period. That's my. I'm pretty sure I can argue that. But let me tell you this I am not going to get upset if somebody teaches some other position because some, some great scholars say it's got to happen on earth after the second coming. Okay, I got that. But I just personally believe that it takes place during the tribulation period because the church is in heaven, revelation, chapter 19,. Revelation 4, verse 1. And that makes sense to me because of Isaiah 26, verses 19 to 21. Read it later, you'll be blown away. It's pretty awesome. Isaiah 26, verses 19 to 21. 07:12 - Speaker 3 Next, how do we find a good church Pray? 07:19 - Speaker 2 This is how you find a good church you pray, ask God to lead you and then ask God to give you discernment Number two. That's number three, isn't it? Pray, discernment Number three go to a church four weeks in a row, four consecutive weeks in a row, before you leave to go to look at some other church. You need to do that. Give God the opportunity to speak to you because you know what? Maybe the pastor that day I know how this is Maybe the pastor's off, he's struggling, it's been a bad study week, he's under attack himself and the message just doesn't come out right. 07:54 Maybe the worship is weird that week. Maybe the greeter didn't greet you so you're all upset. Or maybe you didn't greet the greeter and he doesn't want you to come back. Anyway, the thing is this give a church, any church you visit give it four visits in a row, asking for discernment and wisdom, and then move on, and then God will speak to you. He will let you know, because bottom line is this when you show up and when you get there, you're going to sense the presence of God. 08:23 - Speaker 3 What is your stance on tithing? I've always believed it to be 10%, but some scripture appears to apply that to priests under the law. 08:31 - Speaker 2 Yeah, listen, it's not 10%. The word tithe is what we're to give to the Lord and if you read Old and New Testament, it's more like 90% or 100%. When you look at the Old Testament, people, that's where the word tithe comes from. Originally, we are actually supposed to be giving God a lot more than what we keep, but we're selfish and stingy and we're creeps about that. So we say we trust God, but then we hang on to our money because that's really our savior right. That's what's really going to get us through at the end of the month is our money. That's wrong. 09:06 So don't ever get caught up into tithe as in 10th, because biblically, the Old Testament says and I forget the exact amount, but the ministry was to receive something like 30%, with all of the temple, worship and all of that, including the priest and all of that. But then in the New Testament it's not 90%, it's 100%. It's 100%. So you say, Jack, what do I do? You talk to God about what the amount should be. Here's the criteria you have to be a cheerful giver, God told the Corinthians you got to be a cheerful giver. I have a little bonus time. 09:43 - Speaker 3 How did pride begin in heaven? Where did Lucifer get that idea? 09:48 - Speaker 2 In the wretched, stinking heart of Satan, whose name was Lucifer in the beginning, the glorious angel crowned perfectly with. If God could work overtime on creating angels, Lucifer, Read Isaiah, chapter 28 and Ezekiel chapter. I'm forgetting Isaiah 28, Ezekiel something. Is it Isaiah 14? Yeah, Isaiah. Maybe Ezekiel 14 or 17, Isaiah 28. I'm all messed up on this. Hey, forgive me, but here's the deal. The Bible tells you right then and there in the scripture it says you were perfect in all your ways until sin was found in your heart. Pride was found in your heart. Angels worship God also, like we do. That means angels have free moral agency, which means worship to be true has to be worshiped by choice. Satan got jealous, it tells you in the Bible. He wanted to be like God. He wanted to have his throne established above God. He wanted everybody to worship him, and so he had pride in his heart and he sinned and he was cast out. 10:53 - Speaker 3 How old will we be in heaven? What about a baby who dies in the womb, or someone who is a hundred years old? How old will they be? 11:01 - Speaker 2 Isaiah tells us that, both in the millennium and we can project that into eternity. The Bible says that in the millennium, for example, where the millennium is the 1,000 physical reign of Jesus Christ, his politics from Mount Zion in Jerusalem, at the second coming, the Bible says in the book of Isaiah that when a man dies at the age of 100, people will mourn as though a child has died. That's during the millennium, because mortals you and I will not be mortals at that time. They will die. But what about eternity? Ah, in eternity, how old will we be? Nobody knows. Some people speculate and say we're going to be at the age of Christ. That's a good guess, because I don't think we're going to have perpetual babies crawling around in heaven. That doesn't seem right. Adam and Eve were created in their mature state. So what if God decides that you, even if you were a miscarried child or an aborted child, what if in eternity we are all of the same age? 12:06 - Speaker 3 What are your thoughts on social drinking? Is alcohol fine as long as you don't get drunk? 12:11 - Speaker 2 We just went through this in our verse by verse, chapter by chapter Bible study in the book of Romans, chapters 14 and 15. And it is this Nowhere does the Bible say you cannot drink, but the Bible does say you cannot get buzzed. And it is this Nowhere does the Bible say you cannot drink, but the Bible does say you cannot get buzzed, you cannot get drunk. The Bible does say to somebody who's dying, give them strong drink. Why? Well, we do that today, but we use morphine or we use medication to comfort people in their pain and in their dying. 12:42 But look, I'm not an advocate for drinking. For this reason, number one, I have a hard time keeping as many dendrites that I own alive, let alone killing 10,000 with every ounce of alcohol. The second thing is we are forbidden to stumble any brother or sister publicly, or maybe even at table. If you and your wife or you want to have a glass of wine over your spaghetti at home, that's your business, but we can't take it outside and stumble anybody. And if we stumble anybody, then our freedom has become a sin and God doesn't approve of that. 13:16 - Speaker 3 What are your thoughts on women preaching? Not a pastor, but teaching and preaching. 13:22 - Speaker 2 The book of Acts teaches us that women can teach, but they cannot usurp authority over a man. Yes, Paul did say I do not suffer a woman to teach. That is in the context of women in the place of pastoral position and authority over the church. That's forbidden in the Bible. But women teachers to women is fantastic in the Bible. But women teachers to women is fantastic. 13:51 Listen, women look at Ananias and Sapphira. Not Ananias and Sapphira, sorry, Priscilla and Aquila. Priscilla was a tremendous discipler, her and her husband, over the man, Apollos, who was a great minister of the gospel, and they were friends of Paul as well. Listen, a woman can teach over women. A woman can teach men in a special setting, Like. We had Elizabeth Elliott speak at our church here several times and she was the first one to say Pastor Jack asked me to speak. I'm not pastor and I'm not usurping authority. I was asked to teach or to tell all of you our life story, Jim Elliott and myself, and so it's to be done biblically and right. But there's no such thing as a female pastor. It's forbidden in Scripture. 14:36 - Speaker 3 Don't you think the bears eating the kids in 2 Kings 2, 23 through 25 was a harsh punishment for calling Elisha baldy. 14:46 - Speaker 2 No, first of all, this is what they said to Elisha. They were mocking him because the ministry of Elijah had just fallen upon Elisha, and so they're not acknowledging the authority of God in the great prophet Elisha. They make fun of him and they say go up thou bald head. Go up thou bald head. Another translation hey, you think you're such a big deal, elisha? Why don't you go up into heaven like Elijah did? Because we don't recognize your authority. 15:18 And the Bible tells us that these kids were consumed by she bears. I love that. No, that's not harsh at all. Number one, aren't you glad you live in the New Testament era because God could do that all day long and be justified in doing it? No, listen, they disrespected a prophet of God. It was like disrespecting God himself, because prophets held that office of such reverence, and so when they made fun and made light of, elijah had this event happen. God judges these kids and they're consumed. By the way, they're not little kids. These are probably teenagers or young guys, and I think it's kind of awesome that out of the. I would love to see that happen today. It'd be pretty cool that if somebody is making fun of some godly man, that bears came out of the woods and ate them up, wouldn't that be great. Nobody would make fun of God's man, maybe kind of wild huh. 16:13 - Speaker 3 How do I prove, using the Bible, to my adult kids that a legal marriage with a certificate is what they need to do? 16:23 - Speaker 2 I think you're asking this If somebody goes and gets a legal marriage and gets married guess what Before the state of California or the US government, they're married. It's a contract, they're married, they're married. What you're concerned about, I think, is are they married before the Lord in a spiritual marriage? No, unless they're believers. So that's why, by the way, our Puritans in America never had ceremonies like we do today. They were married before the magistrate, because it was already assumed that they're walking before the Lord. So today you can be married before a sea captain, captain of a ship, a judge or a minister, and if you do that, you are legally married before the state of California, for example. But does that mean you're married before God in the spiritual union? No, because that's a spiritual event. But are you married legally? 17:22 - Speaker 3 Yes, Are loved ones in heaven actually looking down on us? Can they see what's going on from there? We don't know. 17:33 - Speaker 2 For sure it would be quite a bummer if your family could look down to see what you're doing with your life and they'd be all bummed out. Or they could look down from heaven and see how often we mess opportunities or how carnal the church has become. They would be up in heaven crying. That's my observation. I don't think they can see, but the book of Revelation tells us that those who will be beheaded during the tribulation period for the gospel of Jesus Christ, they're very aware that there's others that will have to die and join them as well. But generally speaking, I don't think others that have passed into heaven are aware, because I think that it would be somewhat of a chagrin to them to see what's going on here. But I can't be hard and fast on that. I'm open to changing my mind on that. 18:26 - Speaker 3 How do I handle family members that call themselves Christians but are into anti-Semitic conspiracy theories? 18:33 - Speaker 2 They don't read their Bibles. They can call themselves Christians all day long, until they obey Jesus. I don't care who reads their Bible. God only cares about who obeys the Bible. And isn't it interesting? In Matthew, chapter 25, the criteria that Jesus will use against the world when he comes back to establish his kingdom is how did you treat the Jews, my brethren? Wow, matthew 25, go read it. Later. He's going to judge the world in his second coming based upon how did you treat my brethren? And he's referring to the Jews, not the church. That's the bride of Christ. Interesting right. Watch out for any anti-Semitic sentiments, because it is demonic in origin. It proves that somebody's under the sway of Satan's doctrines of demons and deceiving spirits, and it's going to grow. Mark my words anti-Semitism is going to grow because Satan's leash is getting longer and longer as we approach the last days. Avoid them, avoid them, avoid them. 19:40 - Speaker 3 Jesus said you must be born of water and spirit. I understand the spirit part as being born again, but what is the water part? 19:49 - Speaker 2 He actually explains it in John, chapter three. Jesus is talking to Nicodemus and he's saying hey, don't you understand this? You've got to be born of the water and then born of the spirit. You have to be born once before you can be born twice. The water is referring to us coming into this world from the matrix, from the womb of the mother. The water breaks. We come into this world. It is not a reference to baptism, because if it's a reference to baptism, then the thief on the cross didn't make it to heaven and Jesus is wrong. It has nothing to do with baptism in water. It has to do with being born once. You need to be born twice to get into the kingdom of heaven. He's explaining to Nicodemus Nicodemus, you came into this world once through your mother, born through water. The next world that you need to get into is that you have to be born a second time by the Spirit of God, being born from above. We say born again, that is born a second time. 20:46 - Speaker 3 How do you know there are no other humans or intelligent life in the vast universe? What makes us so special? 20:54 - Speaker 2 I think God's creation, genesis chapter one, is what makes us so special, and it's just like God to establish all of the firmament of the heavens for us to see his majesty and his glory and his beauty. It is very humbling to realize that when you finally spot earth in the massive, massive Milky Way, you have to say what in the world is going on here? Either there's all kinds of other life out there which is a weird response if you think about it versus wow, aren't we a humble little speck that God has focused his love upon? Having said that, I do not believe there's intelligent life elsewhere and, by the way, I don't think we should be looking for it, because we're not even intelligent enough to figure out our own life. 21:36 But the other thing is this Jesus Christ died here. He didn't die anywhere else, and I know that flies in the face of a certain cult that ride their bikes up to your door, knocks on your door with a shirt and tie. But this is the only one. This is the only planet and the other life that might be out there. Can you call it life? I think it's demonic. I think there's deceiving spirits and angelic fallen creatures out in the other world spirits and angelic fallen creatures out in the other world. 22:03 - Speaker 3 I'm 50 and just found out that my parents never baptized me or my siblings. We assumed they had. Does this? 22:12 - Speaker 2 mean we won't be accepted into heaven. Thank God you don't remember being baptized by your parents. You want to know why. You would have only been traumatized by a little kid getting wet. You cannot be baptized by any human being and then have that translate into your entrance into heaven Impossible. Listen to this. 22:32 The Bible teaches that you must be baptized after you're saved After you're saved. So I love your question. Here's what you need to do. You need to give. You need to go to Jesus Christ right now. 22:45 Repent of your sins, get alone with him and tell him your sins. Tell him that you've sinned against him. Repent of your sins, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, the Bible says, and you shall be saved. After that happens, then go get baptized, because baptism is a public display of a previous internal commitment. Don't ever put baptism in front of salvation. That's insane and a lot of religions do it and they're actually condemning people to hell without them even knowing it. And again, tell me. Jesus said to the thief on the cross you'll be with me in paradise. Today, the thief on the cross was never baptized. Go figure that one out. What if you were saved and you're driving down to the beach to get baptized and you get killed. Are you going to go to hell? Nope, you're going to go to heaven. Water baptism is a public announcement of a previous internal commitment. It doesn't save you. 23:37 - Speaker 3 If our days on earth are determined and ordained by God, can we cut short our days by unhealthy living, through smoking, drinking, overeating, etc. 23:47 - Speaker 2 Nope, you'll just be miserable. You'll be fat, out of shape, ugly, hurting, diabetic, plugged into a glazed potato chip machine. I don't know what, but your day is. You can't hasten the day, you can't lengthen the day. God knows the day. So here's my recommendation Eat and be as healthy as you possibly can so that you're usable. That's the question. If God has my day numbered, shouldn't I use my body to be healthy enough so he can use it as well? Yes, that's the answer. Take care of yourself. God gave you this body to manage and to steward over. Don't do things that are going to hurt you and live for the glory of God. I hope that answers your question, because it's that simple. Take care of yourself so God can use you. Don't take care of yourself and you're going to rot away until your day arrives. And that's a crummy way to live Crummy chips, potato crumbs, bread, cupcakes and cookies. 24:54 - Speaker 3 Can you explain agnostic versus atheist views? 24:59 - Speaker 2 Yeah, listen, I have more respect for an atheist than I do an agnostic, agnostic. The word agnostic comes from the word ignoramus. Ignoramus means to believe that there can be something known, but you choose not to believe it. Thus the word ignoramus, or we use the word agnostic. It means yeah, you know what? There's probably a God out there, but I refuse to know him. Versus the atheist. The atheist really believes that there's no God out there. At least he's kind of sure. There's no God out there. There's more hope for an atheist to come to Christ than an agnostic, because an agnostic acknowledges the supernatural or the divine, but refuses to come. That's why the word ignoramus is such a strong word. It means yeah, I guess I could know about him, but I'm going to choose not to know about him. And we would say what an ignoramus. Versus an atheist who says I don't think there's a God, but I'm open for debate. There's more hope for the atheist Don't be an ignoramus. More hope for the atheists Don't be an ignoramus, we're on a roll. 26:02 - Speaker 3 Now Give me your best argument on why Christians should be involved in politics. 26:08 - Speaker 2 Because if we're not involved in politics, lunatics will be. If there is a void and there's no good in the void, no light in the void, no righteousness in the void, if there's nothing right and good and light and godly and righteous in the void, the void will be filled by the bad. All you have to do is look around at your own town or your city. Notice, whenever good people do not get involved in anything, the lunatics do. Bad people do. Evil takes over, for example. Look at Minnesota. Do Bad people do Evil takes over, for example, look at Minnesota, minnesota, wisconsin, even Texas. How are they going so Islamic? Because good people refuse to do good. Good people don't get involved. They say I'm not going to get involved in politics. Well, guess what? Muslims say all right, we will and we're going to wind up changing your government and throwing you out. And if you think I'm killing, kidding, go look at what the mayor of Dearborn just did to that Christian guy who questioned Sharia law. The mayor said get out of town. 27:15 - Speaker 3 Where was Lazarus when he died? Did Jesus said he was only sleeping, but he was raised from the dead? 27:22 - Speaker 2 Yeah, Lazarus' body was sleeping. Lazarus was in fact dead. In fact, if you read the scripture in John's gospel, Jesus made sure that he didn't show up until Lazarus was dead and buried. Why? Because Jesus was going to perform a miracle and he knew it. So where was Lazarus? If anything, Lazarus would have been with Abraham for a momentary time. Abraham, it's called Abraham's bosom and I'm sorry I don't remember this, but it's in either Luke 15 or Luke chapter 16, chapter 15 or chapter 16 of Luke's gospel. Lazarus would have been there, but only momentarily, because Jesus said, and because Jesus said Lazarus, come forth. And Lazarus came out. When it refers to his body sleeping, that's exactly. All that means is that his body, soma, looks as though it's sleeping, but the spirit never sleeps. Our souls and spirit never sleep. 28:21 - Speaker 3 So hopefully that answers your question. Who do you believe wrote Hebrews and why? 28:27 - Speaker 2 Yeah, I've tried so hard teaching the book of Hebrews for the last four years or so on Wednesday nights to avoid, even though I've slipped a few times. There's a lot of good theories, but none of them are as good as Paul himself, paul the Apostle. Why? Because when it comes to theology, when you begin to dissect the word usage, what the writer assumes the readers know, it's very what is known as Pauline. It's very Pauline in its structure. And even at the end of the book of Hebrews, chapter 13, he begins to end his wonderful theological treaty by saying to them that I hope to see you soon. I hope to come to you soon. That's very Paul-like in his epistles, I believe Paul wrote it. But listen, for whatever reason God didn't want us to know, or else we would have known. But if it's written to the Hebrews and it is it makes sense that they would have automatically assumed that they knew that a Hebrew is writing to them about being a Hebrew believer in Yeshua HaMashiach Jesus as the Hebrew Messiah. 29:36 - Speaker 3 Is it true you believe in all millennialism? What is your definition of that? How? 29:43 - Speaker 2 in the world. Did you ever come to the conclusion that I believe in all millennialism? I don't know where you're at or what you're watching or listening to. I condemn amillennialism. I'm not a Catholic, I'm not a Lutheran. Amillennialism is a doctrine of demons. In my opinion, amillennialism means Jesus Christ is not coming back to establish his kingdom for a thousand years. I am a premillennialist, which means Jesus Christ returns ahead of his 1,000-year reign. So you read wrong, you listened wrong or you're reading the wrong internet crazies, listen, mark it down. I am a, a futurist, pre-millennialist, pre-tribulational, pre-rapture, literalist when it comes to the Bible. So watch out what you read. 30:42 - Speaker 3 If someone is dying but can no longer speak, can they accept Jesus Christ without actually speaking his name and just thinking it? Absolutely. 30:51 - Speaker 2 Yes, thank God. Right, thank God, you see. Yeah, but if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ, you shall be saved. Listen, there's God's graces in there. How many people who have been in a coma could not speak, could not move, and when they revive they tell us I heard everything that happened. The whole time I was locked in my body. Well, what if somebody's in a coma and they cannot speak, but somebody's sharing with them alongside the bed? And, by the way, if you know anybody in a coma, you better go to them now and share the gospel with them and tell them, because many times people in a coma can hear but they can't respond. God knows their heart, he knows if they're saying yes to him. You think just because they want to say yes. Oh, I'd love to say yes, but my mouth won't work. I guess I'm going to hell. Come on, let's cut God some slack. He's much more gracious than we are. 31:44 - Speaker 3 Last question what does revival mean and what does a spiritual awakening mean? 31:50 - Speaker 2 Revival means okay, we can't have revival unless you have vive I'm not joking, this is true Vive. What is vive? Vive is the word for life. Revive is relife, or to have relife again or to have re-life again. Revival is only exclusively reserved for the individual believer and the church. It does not apply to the unchurched or the unbeliever. 32:22 But we know from history that an awakening is when people are provoked in their heart unexplainably, supernaturally, not by any human resource, where they begin to think thoughts like this I'm a sinner, I'm going to hell, I'm lost, I need to be saved, I need to be rescued. Where do I go? Oh God, help me. And they call out to God. The lost become saved in an awakening. The lost come to Christ in an awakening and the church returns back to Christ In this order. This is how it's gone historically. The church is revived, the church becomes beautiful and holy and pure and equipped, and when the awakening takes place, the people who are lost get saved by going to a church that's alive. That's how it works, folks. So are we in the midst of a revival? We don't know yet. We will not know if we're in the midst of a revival until the church is righteous and holy and she becomes attractive to the lost. That experience awakening, because God will bring the lost to a church that's saved, so that they too might be saved.
