Real life presents the Jack Hibbs podcast with intention and boldness to proclaim truth, equip the saints and impact our culture. When we do good things, the word actually means we're doing God-like things. Did you know that? When you tell your kid, go out there and do something good. You're actually saying literally according to the meaning of the word, go out there and do something that God would do. That's awesome. In the Bible says, cling to what's good, cling to what is of God. Be glued to it. You can get the outlines of this podcast by going to jackhibbs.com slash podcast. Today, if this podcast lifts you up and encourages you to live a more fulfilled life in Christ, then make sure you leave us one of those five star ratings. To us, that's like saying, amen or yes, then that rating will encourage others to listen. Now, open your hearts to what God's word has to say to you. Here is Jack Hibbs. What else does that word say? That we're to be angry with it, to resist it, to push it away, to fight against it, to loathe it, to loathe. We don't even use that word anymore. It's Old English to loathe. I mean, it sounds brutal, doesn't it? I loathe you. I mean, that sounds hurtful. But listen, the Bible says, to the Christian church in the 21st century, hate evil. And I'm afraid we don't, as a church. I'm not saying this church and I'm not saying you. I'm saying the church in the 21st century. Do we hate evil? I don't know. It doesn't look like it to me. We're very willing to keep our mouth shut in the face of evil. And that is actually being an agreement. If we never speak up, we are agreeing with the evil. If you never stand up and speak up against what is evil, you are condoning that evil. He said, well, I don't believe that. I don't like that. Say something. Isn't that the model for Homeland Security? See something, say something. Wouldn't that be great if the church took that on? See something, say something. When the church sees an injustice, when the church sees an evil, when the church sees something that is wrong and hurtful and against God's will and against God's Bible, we're supposed to say something. But you know what we do? We're cowards. We say things like this. I don't know why somebody doesn't do something. Failing to realize that God allowed you to see the problem for you to do something about it. Well, I don't know why we don't have a ministry for this. Well, that's a great idea. Head it up. You thought of it that God gave you that. Think about this for a moment. So don't have fake love, but make sure you hate evil. And we are to be a haters of evil. Ephesians chapter 4, verse 25 and 6. It's just where for putting away line, line. I tell you, line, think about how spiritually energized line is. The Bible says that Satan is the father of lies. He invents lies. Speak every man truth with his neighbor. For we are members of one another. Listen to this. Be angry and sin not says the Bible. The Bible says for us to be angry against evil. We don't see this anymore. We see pastors and pulpits pretending and playing games and covering the evil. Making excuses for evil. Saying things like this, well, I feel, listen, pastor, if that's you, no congregation cares how you feel. They want to hear the truth come out of your mouth. If you're called of God, you're going to speak the truth. In love, but you speak it. And that's how people are rescued and loved on and rescued and made right with God. You've got to speak the truth. And so we're to be angry at wrongdoing. And to prove to you how messed up we are, watch this. We're to be angry at wrongdoing. What's wrongdoing? It's doing the wrong thing. It's not rocket science. We're to be angry at sin. All this is according to the Bible. We're to be angry at wickedness. Listen, we don't even know what wickedness is anymore. Say, Jack, are you kidding me? I'm not kidding you. We've been so deluded. And when you approve of wrongdoing and sin and wickedness, you become rescued. Your judgment fails you. That word evil, you guys, is the word for nearest in the Greek language. And it means basically to toil and to be toilsim in the work of sin, to work hard and perpetually at sinning, making plans. Hey, is your husband going on a trip? Yeah, you want to meet up? You know, that's right out of the Bible. Book of Proverbs. Did you know that? Hey, young men, the woman said from the window, come on up. I've just paid my vows. And my husband has taken a bag of money and he's gone on a long business trip. Come to me and let's have our fill of love until the morning. You know, that's in the Bible. And the Bible says to the young man, hate that woman, flee from her, run from her, because the Bible says that once she's gotten you into her bed, amazingly, the Bible, the technology of the Bible, she will pierce your liver through and you'll die. Guess what? Later on, we found out that promiscuity attacks the liver of the human being. Did you know your liver is like the, it's like a pharmacy inside your body. Your liver, if you have a healthy liver, you've got a healthy life. The Bible says in sexual immorality with the harlot, you're destroying your liver. Among other things like your family, remarkable. God knows it's time to hate evil. And it's time to call it what it is because God says I hate it. God says I hate this. God says I love you, but the Bible also says God is angry with the wicked every day. Did you know the Bible says that? God is angry with the wicked every day. And you've got to choose. I gave you enough time to leave the sanctuary. It's too late now. The doors are shut. Here we go. Romans 1 verse 20. Might I remind you as I read this, this is 2,000 years old from the Bible. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and the sky through everything God made. They can clearly see his invisible qualities, his eternal power, and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn't worship him as God or even give him thanks. Do we live in a thinkless age? Wow. And they began to think up foolish ideas of how God was like. In other words, they recreated God in their own image. That's a great God to have to approve of all your evils. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Is that something familiar? Is our culture confused? Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools, and instead of worshiping the glorious ever-living God, they worship idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. That's evolution and reverse. So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's bodies. Does that sound like the internet? They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the creator himself who is worthy of eternal praise, amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Do you know any people like this? I do. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. Verse 27, and men instead of having normal sexual relations with the woman burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men. And as a result of this sin, they listened it. They suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. Internal sickness. That's strong stuff people. Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their own foolish thinking and let them do the things they should never that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness. See, it's a slope downward. I'm sorry to read this stuff to you, but this is pure Bible. Sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, gossip. There are backbiteers, haters of God, insolent, proud, boastful. They invent new ways of sinning. Verse 31 goes on to say, undescerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, wow, unmerciful, who knowing the righteous judgment of God that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them. You know what that verse means? It means that when you see something evil and you keep watching it, you don't turn the channel, or you go pay to the theater to go watch it, and you say, everybody watches this. We're approving it. I know this burns. I know this thing. None of us are innocent on this. Next time you go to some strip club or whatever it is that you go to, buy two tickets, because Jesus is right along with you. If you're a believer, you've taken Christ into the setting. If you've got to go watch this movie or that thing by a second ticket, because Christ is with you. Now those in Romans chapter one are those whom God has abandoned. You say, God abandons people? Yes, he does. They will not listen to him, and then there comes a time when God gives them over. I was shocked. Listen to this. Proverbs chapter six, verse 16 says, there are seven things he detests. Hot eyes. You know what that is? A proud look. Conceited person. God says, I hate that. A lying tongue. God says, I hate liars. And hands that kill innocent blood. Kill the innocent. Of course, that verse applies to the destruction of a human baby. Of course, that applies, but it applies to more than that. For example, if a man is beating up on his wife, that verse applies. If a woman or a man are beating up on their children, that verse applies. God says, I hate those who kill innocence. It doesn't mean they're sinless. It means that they're defenseless against such a power. God says, I hate that. Can you imagine the physician that's performing the abortion? Notice the mother. She may be terrified, scared. She's been talked into it. She doesn't want to do it down deep inside. She's mortified. And by the way, if that's you, God loves you. And listen, God wants you to tell him the truth about what went on. And listen, he'll give you a brand new life and he'll bless you. And maybe listen, that baby is in heaven. Why don't you go to heaven later and meet your baby someday? What a great thing that would be. But think about the nurse or the physician that is willfully, systematically, heartlessly, cold-bloodedly extracting that child from that person that should be living in the safest place in the planet. The mother's womb. God says, I hate them. Jesus said, if you harmed any of these little ones in the day of judgment, it would have been better for you if you had never been born. This is serious stuff, people. This shocked me this week. Did you know this? I was shocked by this. I had to read it three times over. So the article was talking about life and the value of life and how in the Western culture, we're supposed to value life more because we're supposed to be the enlightened culture. And this argument was put for it. It talked about in the detail, the grief. Where were you, by the way? On September 11th, 2001, you remember where you're at? I can tell you what I was wearing. I remember where I was standing. And I watched those the second plane flying to the building. Where were you? Think about that. Nearly 3,000 people were killed that day. Did you know that? And the news reports said that the innocents, they were killed by terrorists and the innocent parish, you know what they meant, right? They meant that those that were meaner and uglier and equipped for war killed those who were not even in the mindset of war. Are you tracking with me? It's not that they were sinless innocent. They were not engaged. The fight wasn't equal. So to speak, yeah. And then the article went on to say this. However, more people died on September 10th, 2001. And on September 12th, 2001, then on September 11th, 2001. And I went, what? And then they went to, then they went on to cite the amount of abortions that took place on those two days. Did you know that abortions went down on September 11th? Did you know that? If not stopped. Because the nation stopped. Is that shocking? I was shocked by that. That Proverbs 6 goes on to say in verse 18, the heart that plots evil. God says, I hate, I hate the the feet that race to do wrong. God says, I hate false witnesses who pours out lies. God says, I hate the person who shows discord among a family. God says, I hate that. You think somehow you're so something that you got to share your mouth at the destruction of your family? God says, I hate that. Listen, God says, I hate those who divide my church up. Did you know that? And then we end with this and you're saying, thank God, we end with this. It's cling to what is good. Well, listen, cling to what is good. This is a fantastic word, cling. It means, this means to bond together, be glued together, be united, one becoming, two becoming one, to be attached. In this case, of course, be, be attached, be stuck on what's good. The amazing thing about, about this good is that according to the Bible, God is the only one who's good. When we do good things, the word actually means we're doing God-like things. Did you know that? When you tell your kid, go out there and do something good. You're actually saying, literally, according to the meaning of the word, go out there and do something that God would do. That's awesome. In the Bible says, cling to what's good, cling to what is of God. Be glued to it. You're almost done. Take a deep breath, everybody. Let it out. You might need to do that one more time pretty soon here. I'm going to give you some good news. I'm going to see if you can recognize it. And I want to remind you, I'm reading to you a love letter from the Apostle Paul 2,000 years ago to those who lived in Greece in the city of Corinth. First Corinthians, don't you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Practice wrong. That's what the word means. Don't fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin or who worship idols or commit adultery or are male prostitutes or practice homosexuality or are thieves or greedy people or drunkards or abusive or cheat people, none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. If I stop right there, we should all just go get drunk and drive off the end of the pier. You may not have done those things. You may have done some of those things. All you have to do is think of one of those things. And now we're guilty. I'm guilty of several of those things, and I'm not going to tell you which ones they are. I may not have done them, but I thought about it. According to God's word, I'm guilty, because God knows my heart. So what do we do about that? Here's the good news. Some of you were once like that. So I'm going to say it again and say, hey, man, because you're happy to hear that. Because if you're sitting here right now, going, oh gosh. He's speaking to a crowd of people who are going, that crowd in Corinth, you're not going to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Those of you guys who committed adultery and the Corinthians would say, whoa, whoa, what? We live for adultery. That's all we do. You see, well, Jack, it's not all I do, but do you watch it? Do you entertain it? Do you think about it? Whatever it might be. What about taking advantage of people in business, cheating them? They cheat people. God says, you're not going to heaven. You're a white collar thief. You fancy it at all up, made it look good. You swindle people. That's what Satan does. You're not going. And then when you get convicted, it's like, ah, see, somebody in here is going to say, I don't like being talked to like this. You're one of them. Versus the person that is saying, how'd you know? I didn't know. I don't know anything. I'm just repeating the Bible. This is what God says. Some of you were like that, but you were cleansed, but you were made holy. You were made right with God by the calling on the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of God. That's the gospel. He died in the cross to set us free from that imprisonment that we were in. So we get to love people. We get to hate evil because we know what it does to people. Wow. This Jack Kibb's podcast, as well as all the broadcast outreach opportunities, our listeners supported.
